The structure of a drying filter filled with desiccant, such as granular silica gel, molecular sieve, Activated alumina, etc. , used to absorb water in the refrigerant. The two ends are provided with filters for filtering impurities in the refrigerant. In some large refrigeration units, only the outlet end of the filter is installed to facilitate the removal and replacement.

Dry filter installation, can be directly connected to the refrigerant circulation pipeline, can be installed horizontally or vertically. When installed vertically, refrigerant should flow from top to bottom.

The replacement of the drying filter, the following situations need to be replaced:

1.After using for a period of time, drying filter shell cooling, condensate or frost, indicating that the desiccant has been absorbed water saturation, refrigerant flow by part of the throttling, at this time should replace the drying filter.

2. Observe the liquid mirror installed at the back of the drying filter, the color change indicates that the moisture content exceeds the standard, indicating that the desiccant has failed, at this time should replace the drying filter.

3.The liquid mirror shows a lot of bubbles, the reason is that the resistance of the drying filter is too large, indicating that the filter has begun to plug, at this time should replace the drying filter.

4. Refill refrigerant, refrigerant oil, or replace the compressor, condenser and other major components, must also replace the drying filter.

After the replacement of the dry filter, in order to prevent leakage of refrigerant, or air, water into the system, should be reinstalled part of the leak detection.

When the drying filter is installed on the liquid supply pipeline, it should be installed reasonably, and pay attention to the type selection and the resistance loss in the course of use, so as to avoid the refrigerant“Flash” caused by too much resistance, resulting in a decrease in refrigerating capacity.
